 Batch 2017/18

They are the first full time student group enrolled in Department of Management Studies under the Faculty of Training Technology for the 2017 academic year, comprising 39 Advance level students and 1 NVQ student. Students who have to specified in technological area within 4 semesters out of 3 years under the Department of Education and Training are also included. Taking maximum advantage of the opportunity opened up by the University of Vocational Technology in 2017, these undergraduates are highlighting excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities. Many achievements in academic and extracurricular activities have been won since the first place was won by the students in the “The Debater” competition organized by the students in the academic year 2016/17. In the meantime, students have taken the initiative to conduct the best and most enjoyable entertaining program that present as “Thalama” annually in the university premises. They are also pioneering in establishing the value of the Management Club for department, achieving the general goal of uplift students based on their attitudes and abilities in technical education and vocational training in order to pursue their studies. Now in their third year of study under better and experienced teaching staff, they are gathering knowledge to enter the industry armed with educational and technical training by the end of the 2020s.

Batch 2018/19

We are the second batch of Industrial Management Studies in the University of Vocational Technology. Our degree programme is concurrently combined with industrial field with the curriculum made by gathering of number of professionals. We have the opportunity and hope to become the most effective personalities in commercial world. We are consisting of 39 undergraduates who are selected from A/Ls as well as one student from NVQ. Our undergraduates are from several areas of the country and we are consisting with all Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim students. Also, there are bachelor of education students who are parallelly coming with us up to 5th semester. Our degree programme consist with 6 semesters. Our undergraduate also contributing for many extra-curricular activities such as e sports, sports, exhibitions, functions (Thalama musical nightfall corporation with the senior badge), also doing many more projects such as creating

And this degree programme is a golden opportunity for us to expose to competitive industrial field. We are adequately reinforcing to face modern day challenges in the world of business. Encompassing industry required talent with sufficient resources; department is geared to serve its utmost contribution for the betterment of tertiary education in Sri Lanka.
